Marco Verratti frustrates Barcelona by increasing his wage demands

Verratti, 24, has become one of the top transfer targets for Barcelona ahead of next season as they search for a long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta in the centre of the park.
The Italian seems to be getting closer to a move to the Nou Camp, with reports suggesting he’s already agreed personal terms with Ernesto Valverde’s side and is waiting for PSG to negotiate with Barcelona over a transfer fee.
But now it seems he’s looking to up his compensation for a potential switch.
Spanish publication Don Balon claim he now wants over £220,000-a-week for his salary, £70,000-a-week more than Barcelona are thought to be offering him.
Their report says Verratti is keen to increase his wages and knows that sooner or later a club will be willing to pay what him what he wants.
Barcelona are looking to make a number of signings this summer to get them back in the race for La Liga and Champions League titles.
A move for Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin has been heavily touted, along with a potential bid for Borussia Dortmund winger Ousmane Dembele.
So far, though, Valverde’s side have failed to add any big-name signings to the squad.
