Deal done: Barcelona accept Arsenal’s £25m bid for 30-year-old forward

Spanish giants Barcelona have reportedly accepted Arsenal’s £25m bid for Arda Turan, according to reports in CNN Turk.
The 30-year-old forward has been in good form this season scoring 13 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions despite an abductor injury hampering his progress recently.
Despite fans unrest over the past few months Arsene Wenger is expected to stay at the Emirates and is planning an overhaul by bringing some big names this summer.
With the future’s of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Lucas Perez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all in doubt, Arsene is expected to bring in at least two new attackers this summer and Turan’s name has been linked.
It looks as though that move has now been made as CNN Turk are reporting that Barcelona have now accepted terms over a £25m deal that will see Turan head for the Emirates this summer.
It’s difficult to know the precise details as the translation is sketchy but the report appears to suggest that our offer has been accepted as Barca are keen to cash-in on Turan as he’s failed to hold down a regular place.
We showed an interest in Turan when he left Atletico Madrid in 2015 and it seems Wenger has now renewed his interest as the boss looks to get his summer business done early – probably to appease disgruntled fans.
The attacking midfielder possesses strong technical skills and an even more impressive work rate that could make him a solid capture. His style would make him an excellent signing for Arsenal, though he’s now 30, he has the capability to play some way into his 30s.
He can play either on the wing or in the middle which could give Wenger many options up front and could be a perfect foil for Ozil’s vision in the final third if he stays with the North London club.
Turan was superb when he was at Atletico but has been a little subdued in Spain. It will be fantastic business for Arsenal if we can bring him to the Emirates and get him back near his formal form.
However, if Sanchez and Ozil does depart at the end of the season then we would need few more big names to make up for the loss.
