Ronaldo has arrived in Italy with one job and one job only, make sure Juventus win the Champions League.
The Bianconeri has dominated Serie A over the past decade but they are seemingly cursed when it comes to the Champions League with their success back in 1996 the last time they have gone all the way at the top table of European football.
Three finals have come and gone for the old lady of Turin and things are starting to get desperate in their search for another victory in the tournament.
Step forward Cristiano Ronaldo, with the former Real Madrid man a dab hand at winning the competition with both Los Blancos and during his time with Manchester United, who they face at Old Trafford tonight.
The former Sporting Lisbon star will need to be a leader for the kings of calcio and that means plenty will be interested in his chances of picking up the golden boot in the tournament this term.
So far, the 33-year-old has scored a remarkable 120 goals in 154 Champions League matches but he is as big as 14/1 with one firm to score more than anyone else this season after a slow start. That is largely due to the five goals Lionel Messi already has in his back pocket, but the Argentinian has picked up an injury which could give his great rival a chance to make up the ground.
Few would be surprised to see Ronaldo come back to haunt his old club at Old Trafford with the Man United defence a shambles for long periods in the Premier League so far this campaign.
A hero to the fans in the red half of Manchester, the man from Madeira will be keen to remind them of exactly what they are missing and in the process give his old friends Messi and Neymar a reminder of his credentials.
The Barcelona star is in pole position following his red hot start to the group stages but rule out Ronaldo at your peril...
